Comfort Zone or Change?

Comfort zone is something we’d rather stay forever even if it is unbearable. Isn’t this paradoxical? We agree to stay in a highly uncomfortable situation that we call a comfort zone just to avoid the change.

The uncomfortable situation that we are in became very familiar with years. We know how to control it; we put a lot of valuable life energy to make it more or less acceptable. At some points the discomfort of this familiar situation reaches its peak, then it subsides and we can continue as usual.

The comfort zone is like a still water: it slowly becomes a swamp and swallows us.

Change is always present in life. If you don’t constantly improve something, it will deteriorate. This is true in your relationship, in your financial life, in your career. Constant change is something that is permanent.
If this is the case – isn’t it better to take the control into your hands and initiate the change instead of waiting till things happen to you? In reality nothing happens to you. Everything is a result of your action or inaction.

Change is uncomfortable. It means entering a zone that you don’t know how to control. Change is based on faith and trust. Unfortunately for many of us it is not the way we used to live our lives. We were always told to take the control but we were never taught to let go and have complete faith in God and yet this is the only way to a meaningful achievement in life. Leaving the comfort zone is about taking control to initiate the change and letting go and have faith.

You don’t have to make radical changes though sometimes this might be necessary to rectify the situation. You can plan for the change, do a research, just make sure you do not procrastinate making the final decision and taking the action. Be attentive to your feelings if you keep postponing taking an action for different reasons. The real cause can be the fear of change.

If you are not satisfied with your life do not stay where you are – research, prepare a plan and take an action to move forward.
