Goal Setting

There are many important aspects to goal setting.
First, you should review all areas of your life and determine what you want for each area.
Then you have to find out which one has the priority. You have to do a lot of research – within and without. You need to search inside yourself to discover if this is what you really want, if it is not something that someone else wants for you. Will it benefit you, people around you? Will it hurt anybody? Ask more questions.
The next step is the outside research. If your objectives are, for example, financial freedom, earning more money, weight loss, better health, having more satisfying relationships you will need to find out if the goal you set will lead you there.
If your goal is to develop a side business with the objective of having more money, then the outside research will help you to see if the business idea you have will really bring you more money.
When you finish your inside and outside research, set a goal that will help you reach your objective. Make sure it is as specific as possible; you can measure your progress; it is achievable in the time frame you set up for it; it is realistic from the point of view of where you are now and you have a deadline for it. This way your goal will be a SMART one.
On your way to achieving your goals you will need some skills such as Time Management and Assertiveness skills. They can help you move forward.
You will also need to replace all the old habits that impede your progress with the new ones that support your new values and will move you forward towards your goals. There are other important aspects to consider.
A good goal setting and achieving coaching program can help you master all the skills. But do not rely too much on them – it is ultimately YOU who can make things happen. It is You who will have to do all the research and apply all the knowledge received towards the realization of your dream.
