What Do We Need Before The Time Management?

Time is considered to be the most valuable resource that we have. For this reason time management skills are considered to be very important in our busy societies. But is this the first thing we need to be able to tackle successfully the tasks on hand?

We are not robots after all. How many times it happened that you had a lot of time to do what needs to be done however you didn’t have the energy to do that?

Recently, for example, my friend needed some time to accomplish an important task and she was able to free four consecutive days for it. Unfortunately her energy level was so low that she accomplished only 10% of what she set out to do.

When we have high energy we think and do things quicker and move faster so we accomplish much more than usual within the same time frame. So really our focus should be on maintaining good energy levels. Only after that we can apply the time management rules of preparing daily lists and prioritizing to succeed.

First you need to realize that body and mind are connected. Unhealthy eating habits, for example, decrease the energy level and affect negatively our mental abilities. Negative thinking patterns, in their turn, deplete the physical body. So in order to maintain healthy energy levels we need to nourish body and mind.
Here are some ways to help you increase your energy level:

1. Reduce the negative impact that stress has on the body through breathing exercises, progressive relaxation technique, regular exercise and good night sleep.

2. Eliminate the unnecessary stress on the body through cutting down on stimulants such as coffee, alcohol and cigarettes. You will experience withdrawal symptoms in the first 2-3 weeks such as low energy but afterwards the energy level will stabilize and you will have stable energy level throughout the day instead of ups and downs.

3. Practice yoga or qigong to ensure the flow of vital energy in the body.

4. Meditation can help you to relax and connect to the Universal Source of energy for replenishment.

5. Detoxify the physical body through different cleansing techniques and healthy nutrition to nourish the body and mind.

6. Clean up the house. Get rid of old stuff you kept for years. This will ensure the flow of positive energy in your environment.

7. Practice positive affirmation and visualization to change the negative thinking patterns that poison the mind and deplete the energy level.

These are just few steps that can help you increase your energy level. Afterwards you can apply different work organizing techniques including the time management ones to achieve what you want.
